WANT TO HAVE A HUGE IMPACT FOR ANIMALS?
Animal Ask, a recently formed research organisation is looking to appoint a Head of Research to our team to assist our work in maximising the impact of animal welfare asks.

ABOUT ANIMAL ASK
Animal Ask was conceived through the 2020 Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Programme. We aim to support both organisations and individuals in their efforts to reduce farmed animal suffering by providing dedicated research.

Billions of animals suffer on factory farms every year. The animal advocacy movement has so far done great work to help alleviate animal suffering, building up expertise in both public and corporate campaigns.

The foundation of these campaigns is what is referred to as an ask. This is the specific request for industry, food companies, or the government to improve the welfare of animals in their care e.g. asking the UK government to ban cages for laying hens. These animal welfare asks are implemented over a set period and if successful, can change the lives of millions of animals. However, not all asks are equally impactful - good prioritisation of potential asks can greatly increase the effectiveness of the movement efforts.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Over the past year we have completed a pilot programme working with two prominent organisations on their ask prioritisation, the results of which could see our optimal recommended asks changing the lives of millions of animals. With your help, we will continue this service alongside the introduction of our new Ask Consultation service.

Given the impressive level of effort and resources animal advocacy organisations currently put behind each ask, we think that supporting our community in prioritising the best asks is key and you would play an integral role in supporting this mission.

You will be responsible for the project management of our dedicated research programmes which support animal advocacy organisations and policy makers to effectively prioritise their ask considerations. You will act as the spokesperson for the research department and liaise closely with the co-founders to ensure we are reaching our targets and organisational goals.
